Dell Vostro 220 Game Graphics Problem

Hi. I recently got a new Dell Vostro 220 with an Intel G45 1GB graphics card. I recently installed "NFS Most Wanted" and was shocked to see some very screwed up graphics. See the screenshots below:

This is how it looks like on default settings (almost everything set on min):
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 640x512.

This is how it looks like on max settings (resolution is same though):
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 640x512.

This is how it looks like on min settings:
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 640x512.

When I start playing on min settings the graphics are fine, but when I reach a high detailed areas I can see some color loss, and on even higher detailed areas It gets blue like the previous images (see screenshot below):
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 640x512.

I have all the latest drivers installed. The graphics card is 1 GB and on the site it says that it supports high-graphics games like "Crysis", so I don't see what the problem is...
I have also tested this game on system requirements lab and it passed the test. I also tested games with even better graphics and they also passed the test.....

I would be glad if someone helps me find a solution to this problem, without telling me to buy a new graphics card

MS office imaging problem

MS office imaging problem
When I try to scan a document using MS Office document Imaging or Scanning. with my Canon MP830 multi function machine. The document will scan fine and immediatley I get the warning saying the program has to shut down. This just started happening about a week ago. The error details are: "unknown software exception 0xe06d7363 at location 0x7c812afb" I've also experienced Power Point issues when I turn on the computer for some reason it wants to start and it asks if I want to start it in safe mode. This started happening at the same time the scanner acted up. I never changed any settings to have it start automatically. Any suggestions?

Fix1
----------------------
Sometimes updates can change settings, (very annoying,) have you actually gone in and checked settings?

Need Formula problem

Need Formula help
I am hoping to get help with a formula please. What I have so far is working but I have decided to add to it.

=IF(AI16>809,2IF(AND(AI16<809,ai16>=404.5),1,0-A-AA-AI17-AI14-AI13)

I need to expand the formula by adding in that if the cell = 202.25 then it would be .5, if the cell =606.75 then it would be 1.5.
For whatever reason I just can't see the leaves for the trees today and figure out how to fix the formula to include my additions. Basically this is what it is supposed to be:
809 = 2
606.75 = 1.5
404.5 = 1
202.25 = .5
Can anyone help?

Fix1
----------------
Play with this formula
If(AI16>=809,2,if(AI16>=606.75,1.5,IF(AI16>=404.5,1,IF(AI16>=202.25,.5,"??" ))))
Good Luck Post back with any problems

Fix2
-------------------
I would recommend using a LOOKUP formula instead, which would mean you would have to create your table separately. But you could add to it or change it any time you wanted, which would then update all formulas pointing to it. I generally find that far simpler than nesting a bunch of IF() functions. Post back if you need more help (and if you do, please clarify your formula, it doesn't make sense.)

Fix3
-------------------
I have a spreadsheet tracking extra hours worked, sick days, flex days, etc. However flex days are not accrued when a vacation day is taken or sick day or a stat holiday happens. All of these "arguments" require explanation within the formula. Also, it takes 9 days work 45mins extra/day to earn 1 flex day. And so on. Hence the original example.
809 = 2
606.75 = 1.5
404.5 = 1
202.25 = .5
I have included an example spreadsheet to show you so that perhaps you can assist with a better formula that will work????????

Fix4
-----------------------
My apologies, as I lost my way on the site when I tried to close the thread as you name it. Then on the weekend when I was working on it myself, I could not remember my password that I set. Because I can't access my work email from home, I just set up another user so that I could continue my work. Of course, my inexperience led to me thinking I posted my question on Saturday and in actuality, it never did post. I posted it this morning when I noticed that I had done something wrong.
There was no malice intended, nor did I want to offend you, as it seems that you feel that way. You helped me immensely and that is why I returned to the site.
I don't frequent sites like this so I apologize for not being "savvy" in the ways of the internet or the protocol required.
If nobody feels that they can assist me further then I will attempt to find the assistance that I need, elsewhere.

txt file to quoted comma-delimited format problem

txt file to quoted comma-delimited format
I'm trying to import physical inventory data on an excel spreadsheet into my business program. It must be in a quoted comma-delimited format. I haven't a clue how to accomplish this.

Fix1
-----------------------
If you mean in this kind of format
"test", "test1"
Then you would need to add the Quotes to each Excel cell and then do a File>Save As>CSV

Fix2
-----------------------
You can save in a different Format (such as CSV) from Save As. However I'm not sure that Excel has the capacity to add the quotes. Your options therefore are:

1: Manually add quotes to the file; the simplest but most time consuming option.

2: Install and Use Open Office Calc rather than Microsoft Office Excel. OO lets you specify both the delimiter (i.e. comma) and the grouping (i.e. ""). OO has other advantages too, but is definitely overkill if you just want it for this task

3: Use an excel macro to surround all text cells with quotes before saving; probably the most complicated option and least likely to succeed.

4: Run another program against the CSV file to add quotes, essentially doing (1) for you. Probably the quickest and easiest.

Take your pick. If you go for (4) I can get you a simple program.

Fix3
-----------------------------
To ENT:
Thanks so much for the reply.
I would add quotes as a last resort, as the inventory data is in the hundreds!
I have saved the file as a csv file and would appreciate the program to add quotes.
One last thing...the file must be in a txt format in order to import it into this program. Do I just save it as a txt doc after adding the quotes with your program?

MS Access Split Form opened as suborm doesn't display Troubleshoot

MS Access Split Form opened as suborm doesn't display
Hello Computer People,

I'm an "advanced ameatur" MS Access user who is having the same issue as was described in this thread:

http://forums.techguy.org/business-a...rm-opened.html
As Melonhead and I found, a split form inserted into another form essentailly becomes a form within a form (making the datatable dissappear).
(If I'm understanding correctly) melonhead found a way to make a datasheet control the records in a regular form (acting like a split form).
I am able to but the two subforms together, make them reference the same table, but I have no clue how to make them "talk". I have no problem with reading on my own to find out how, I just have no idea what I should be searching under.
My sales reps are used to pulling up records on a split form due to the ease of sorting (and thats what I gave them to work with for the past year). However if somone has another suggestion, I am open to hearing it.
I am willing to trade technical knowledge of ceramic tile in exchange for some help. I'll also be really really nice to you.
Thanks
TileGuy

Excel conditional macro Problem

Excel conditional macro
I am trying to write a macro that will copy data from on location to another if the value in a particular cell is greater than -0-. Below is my attempt which isn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
MBInDe

Sub testz()
'
' testz Macro
' Macro recorded 10/20/2009 by MBInDe
'
' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+z
'
If Cell("A33") = >0 Then
Range("G6:G13").Select
Selection.Copy
Range("C6").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
End If
End Sub

Fix1
--------------------------
Are you trying to copy the value in Cell A33 to Cells G6 thru G13?

OR

Are you trying to copy the value of Cell A33 to Cell G6, Cell A34 to Cell G7, etc.?
-------------------------

Fix2
----------------------------

ou do not really need any code to perform this operation. You can use a formula.

For Example, enter the following formula into Cell C6

Code:
=IF($A$33>0,G6,"")
Then drag the formula down to Cell C13.

Place the white cross on the lower right-hand corner of C6 (it should turn into a black cross), click and hold the left-button on the mouse and drag down to C13. Then release the button.

If you really want to use code to perform this operation let me know and I will help you do so.
----------------------------

Fix 3

Sounds like a plan. My next question is when do you want the code to run?

1. Manually run the code (via, command button, etc.)
2. The code runs when the workbook is opened (that is the only time the code will run. So, if the number in A33 changes while the workbook is opened, the code will not run)
3. When the value in A33 changes
4. Some other trigger

Here is the code that should work...

Code:
Dim ws As Worksheet

Set ws = Sheets("Sheet1")

If ws.Range("A33") > 0 Then
ws.Range("G6:G13").Copy
ws.Range("C6").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteAll
Application.CutCopyMode = False

End If
Once you let me know how you want it to run, I can help you set it up that way (options above).

Fix 4
-------------------
Will this code be ran once while the workbook is opened, or multiple times? If multiple times, what do you want to happen if the value in A33 falls to 0? Are the numbers in Cells C6 thru C13 going to remain the same, become blank, etc.?

What exactly do you need help with? Do you know how to place a command button on the worksheet?
------------------

Fix5
---------------------------------
I do not see the command button within the Excel workbook. Place the command button on the sheet you want it to go, and then re-attach the workbook.

Also, let us know exactly where you want the values to be copied from and where to paste them. Let us know what happens if the value is equal or less than 0.

Give us as much details as you can. Let us know exactly what you need us to help you with.
